PULWAMA, MAY 26: The Jammu & Kashmir State Commission for Women (JKSCW) in collaboration with the National Commission for Women, New Delhi, today organized a legal awareness programme here at DC office Complex.
Chairperson JKSCW Nayeema Ahmad Mehjoor and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar and other concerned were present on the occasion.
Mehjoor, while speaking on the occasion, said that such events are aimed at creating mass awareness among the womenfolk about their rights in the society. She said the Commission is working towards making the women aware about their rights and keeping them abreast about the institutions which work for safeguarding their rights and interests.
She emphasized the need to empower women from their homes by providing them equal opportunities in all aspects of life.
The DDC appreciated the Commission for organizing such type of legal awareness camp. He said there is a dire need to make women aware of their rights as enshrined in the constitution giving special rights to them for their overall development.
Other speakers also threw light on issues being faced by womenfolk and need for raising more awareness among them.
