Minister listens to people’s issues at R S Pura

JAMMU APRIL 29: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Chaudhary today said that the Government is making resolute efforts to meet the developmental aspirations of the people of the state.

“To achieve desired results systematic measures have been initiated at all levels of administration,” he said while speaking at a Public grievance redress camp here at R. S. Pura.

During the camp, several deputations and scores of individuals from Dablehar, Bala Chack, Kothey Burea and adjoining areas   put forth issues and demands pertaining to basic amenities.  They demanded upgrading of power and water supply, road connectivity, healthcare, provision of electric poles, transformers and alike. The locals also raised queries related to various government sponsored welfare schemes.

Responding to the demands, the Minister assured the people that their genuine concerns will be taken up on priority for early resolution and directed the concerned officers to initiate the necessary measures. He informed the locals that many development projects for the constituency are in pipeline and will be executed soon.

Highlighting various development works initiated in the constituency, the Minister said that the government has launched various flagship programmes and laid focus on providing better civic amenities to the people with special emphasis on population living in border and far-off areas.

“Working on the agenda of equitable development, the government has ensured a proportional allocation of resources for the welfare of every section particularly for the population living in border areas”, the Minister said.

Sham Chaudhary asked the locals to avail maximum benefits of  welfare schemes and sought their active public participation in developmental programmes launched by the government.

Taking note of needs and demands of the locals for installation of more electric poles, the Minister directed the concerned officers to prepare a list and prioritise the work on first come first serve basis. The Minister also provided financial assistance to the needy and directed all allied agencies to work in close coordination for the benefit of public at large.

Sham Chaudhary stressed on conducting regular public meetings with an aim to address the grievances at grassroots level so that people can present their concerns to the  elected representatives for early redress of the same.

Former Sarpanch and panchs, officers of the concerned departments besides prominent citizens of the locality were present on the occasion.
