At Guru Nanak anniv special session, 5 Cong MLAs come wearing siropas, chant hymns

Chandigarh, November 6: The special commemorative session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev started on Wednesday.  

Before the session begins, five Congress MLAs—Parminder Singh Pinky, Kulbir Singh Zira, Fatehjung Bajwa, Varindermeet Singh Pahra and Darshan Brar—came wearing siropas and chanted hymns.

MLAs from Haryana, MPs, including Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Jasbir Singh Dimpa, Mohd Sadiq, Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Amar Singh and Chaudhary Santokh Singh are present in the VIP gallery.

Vice-President M Venkiah Naidu, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore, Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar, along with Punjab Speaker Rana KP, are present on the stage.

Naidu started the speech by addressing the House in chaste Punjabi. He extended greetings to all dignitaries in Punjab.
