Ferozepur, October 8: A drone sighted near the Punjab border has sent security forces into a tizzy.

The drone was sighted flying near HK Tower, a check post on the Hussainiwala border in Ferozepur, Punjab.

While flying five times, this drone also crossed the Indian border once. The drone was seen flying from the Pakistan side of the border from 10 pm to 10.40 pm and then again at 12.25 am when it crossed the Indian border after which BSF jawans alerted senior officials.

The BSF and Punjab Police, along with other intelligence agencies, have been conducting search operations since Tuesday morning. The operations are to find if Pakistani terror groups sent caches of drugs or ammunition via the drones.

The sighting comes a week after Punjab government recovered two drones used in dropping weapons from across the border.
