POONCH, JUNE 09: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav today convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the action plan for water conservation and catchment area treatment in the district.
Several issues related to the water conservation, awareness for water usages were discussed in detail. The stress was laid to create more water resources, conserve the existing resources in view of the growing needs of water. The DDC directed the concerned officers to submit the detailed report on the actual requirement of water for different purposes in the District. The focus was to ensure regular supply of drinking water to the people. Regarding the requirement of water for irrigation and other purposes, the DDC directed the concerned officers of Agriculture, PHE and IFC to submit a detailed plan to his office at the earliest for further necessary action.
