Car snatchers arrested, vehicle recovered

Chandigarh, June 19: After the arrest of four key accused on the charges of snatching and taking away a Mercedes car from a Delhi resident, the Haryana Police have arrested four more persons in this case in Hansi. Police have already recovered vehicle which was stolen on June 8, 2019.

Giving this information here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that accused identified as Ajmer alias Banti of Durga colony, Rohtak by-pass, Ram Prasad of Mirchpur, Vikas alias Vikku of Durga Colony Jind and Vikas alias Bokar of Bishanpur, Jind have been arrested from Mirchpur bus stand. These four have been arrested after their names revealed during interrogation from key accused.

He said that police have already arrested four key accused who have snatched Mercedes car from Pramod Kumar, a resident of Kalyanapuri, Indira Colony, New Delhi from near Koth Kalan village in Narnaund area. A number of cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, theft, dacoity and under Arms Act were registered against them in Bhiwani, Loharu, Jind, Gurugram, Hisar and National Capital Delhi.

The vehicle was hired for Rohtak from Delhi through Ola Company. After reaching Rohtak, accused took the driver toward Jind side and snatched it near village Koth.

He said that arrested accused were taken on police remand by producing them in the court to ascertain the names of other gang members involved in vehicle theft cases. Further investigation is underway.
