Peoples Conference (PC) chairman and former minister Sajad Lone on Friday said New Delhi will achieve nothing by banning Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) and arresting political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

While asking that New Delhi should introspect, Lone said that JeI despite being banned in the past and its leaders put behind bars constructed more than 600-700 schools where thousands of students are receiving education.

Hitting out at the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party, Lone said New Delhi should rethink what it achieved by spending crores of rupees on these ‘dynastic parties’.

“Let New Delhi take a pause and think what they achieved by pampering NC and PDP. Unlike JeI, these dynastic parties could not establish even a single educational institution,” he said while talking to reporters in Baramulla where he was accompanying his party candidate Raja Ajaz Ali who filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha seat.
