New Delhi: Congress leader Hardik Patel on Tuesday mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that if it had been about finding “chowkidar” then he would have gone to Nepal. “However, this country needs a Prime Minister who would work towards strengthening the economy and bringing the youths together,” Hardik Patel asserted.
“Chowkidar dhoondhna hoga toh mein Nepal chala jaaunga, mujhe desh mein PM chahiye jo iss desh ke arthvyavastha ko, shiksha ko, yuvaon, jawanon ko mazboot kar sake. Mujhe chowkidar nahi pradhan mantri chahiye,” Hardik Patel said after casting his vote in Gujarat’s Viramgam.
Earlier on April 19, Hardik Patel had alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ‘trying to attack and kill him’. His statement came hours after he was slapped at Jan Aakrosh Sabha in Gujarat’s Surendernagar district in the wake of ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2019. “BJP is trying to attack and kill me the same way Haren Pandya was murdered and fake encounters were done. Man who slapped me is connected to BJP leaders, you can see it on his Facebook profile,” Patel was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Notably, voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in 116 constituencies across 13 States and 2 Union Territories began at 7 AM on Tuesday. The states which are voting in phase 3 are Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura and Union Territories Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The polling will conclude at 6 PM.
