Himachal to run buses for residents stranded in Chandigarh, nearby areas

Shimla, May 2: People from Himachal Pradesh who are stranded in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and adjoining areas can board HRTC buses from Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh, to go back to their respective districts. 

Buses would be made available for Kangra, Chamba, Una and Hamirpur districts on May 3, 6am, onwards at Himachal Bhawan, Sector 28, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh.

People would be accommodated on first-come-first-served basis after preliminary medical checkup, a spokesperson of the state government said today.

Buses would be available for Bilaspur, Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti districts on May 4, 6 am, onwards while residents going back to Shimla, Sirmaur, Kinnaur and Solan districts can board buses on May 5, 6 am, onwards.

A photocopy of Aadhaar card or any other government identity proof would be required and boarding would be allowed only after medical examination, he said, adding that all the people would also have to give an undertaking that they are not coronavirus-positive.
