New Delhi, February 8: Congress candidate and former AAP MLA Alka Lamba has slapped an AAP worker at a polling booth after he allegedly passed some comments on her son.

As Alka Lamba attacked the Aam Aadmi Party worker in front of the polling booth in Majnu Ka Tila on Saturday, police officers present at the scene intervened as she raised a complaint with the officials. She, however, couldn’t hit the worker and missed the slap.

Sources say the AAP worker passed a remark against her son, however, it is not clear what led to the slap.

Alka Lamba, the Chandni Chowk MLA, had severed ties with AAP and CM Arvind Kejriwal after disagreements and a public spat. This time she contested the Delhi elections from Chandni Chowk after going back to Congress, the party she originally belonged to.

Congress candidate from the Chandni Chowk assembly constituency, Alka Lamba cast her vote at polling booth number 161 at Tagore Garden Extension on Saturday morning. Alka Lamba is pitted against Prahlad Singh Sahni of Aam Aadmi Party and BJP’s Suman Gupta.

As the scuffle between Alka Lamba and the AAP worker broke out in front of the polling booth, police officials intervened. Alka Lamba immediately sought an FIR and raised a hue and cry in front of the police personnel.
