WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATED IN UDHAMPUR SCHOOLS
On 5th June 2022 World Environment day was celebrated by the School Education Department of District Udhampur by implementing SVEEP Plan in consonance with the world environment day as per direction of District Election Officer Udhampur.
Chief Education Officer Udhampur Sh. Arvin Kumar Koul hailed all the HOIs and staff of the school for making this day grand successful by organising various activities on the eve of this day which includes SVEEP rally, debates,Quiz competition, Making Posters, Drawing competition on world environment day by making special reference to Electoral process,Speech on ELC books and Plantation drive at schools in general and at Polling Stations at particular.
Eco-Clubs and Electoral Literacy clubs of Schools Jointly organised the activities and spread a message of “Clean India, Green India” and “greater Participation in democratic Electoral process by masses” to society through the students of schools.
“Be it Swachh Bharat Mission or programs related to waste to wealth, or campaign to get rid of single use plastic , Schools efforts to protect the environment have been multifaceted,” .
“On World Environment Day let us join hands to preserve and protect Mother Earth! Let us pledge to make Udhampur green, clean and livable. Waste and sewer management, plastic, e-waste, urban forests, water conservation and recycling should be our concern. We will do it together. ”
“121 High schools and 45 Higher Secondary schools of District Udhampur has conducted plantation drive by planting saplings of various medicinal plants, fruit plants and ornamental plants. World environment day is celebrated like a festival in all schools of Udhampur to inculcate the spirit of love for nature among students with message to increase Green forest cover of India which are considered as lungs of Earth which a
are at present less than optimum as per Ministry of Environment report.
Cultural cell of Schools also make their endeavour to implement all the activities of World environment day by organising awareness rallies and programs to aware the masses about importance of green cover on earth and need to protect it by our joint efforts.
