Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu celebrated International Women’s Day in the college Auditorium with enthusiasm, zeal, and fanfare. The Chief Guest for the program was Ms. Kanchan Bala, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes, I.T.D.A & EI, Jammu spoke that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world and that the present era marked the most significant social change due to the removal of inequality among genders which gave due recognition to women of our country and men and women should share a relationship of mutual respect and understanding. Er. Arun Bangotra Principal Govt. Polytechnic Jammu in his welcome address highlighted the importance of International Women’s day.

 

 

He said that the world is changing and women are taking up every field and making their contribution at all levels and the government has initiated several schemes for women’s empowerment. A cultural program was also organized on the occasion. The event started with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by games, a display of your talent, and dance performances by the staff of the college. The event was coordinated by Er. Sakshi Kapai, Lecturer, I&C. The function was attended by Er Inderjeet Singh, W/Supdt, Ms Neena Dullo, TPO, Er. Sanjay Kaul, HOD Computer, Mr Tariq Amin, HOD, T&T, and all the faculty and staff of various departments.
