Kishtwar: A five-day training workshop on the School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) commenced today at the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Kishtwar under the stewardship of the worthy Principal DIET Kishtwar, Sh. Prehlad Bhagat.
The workshop is aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of heads of institutions (HOIs) of primary and middle schools of the district to create the conducive environment in schools in accordance with NEP-2020.
The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. Prehlad Bhagat,Principal DIET Kishtwar in the presence of staff and faculty members of DIET Kishtwar.The inaugural session saw the enthusiastic participation of 62 trainees, including deputed Head of Institutions from various schools across the district.
In his inaugural address, Sh. Prehlad Bhagat,Principal DIET highlighted the critical importance of such workshops for HOIs. He emphasized that school leaders play a pivotal role in shaping the educational environment and ensuring the effective management of schools. “Workshops like these are crucial for equipping our school leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage their institutions efficiently. It is an invaluable opportunity for professional growth and development,” he remarked.
Sh. Prehlad Bhagat urged the trainees to maintain discipline & punctuality throughout the workshop and to fully engage with the content being presented. “This workshop is a golden opportunity for all participants to enhance their leadership capabilities. I encourage everyone to take full advantage of the sessions, actively participate, and absorb the wealth of information and skills being imparted,” he added.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Nadeem Ul Hassan , Senior Lecturer at DIET Kishtwar who provided insights into the comprehensive content of the workshop, outlining the various modules and sessions designed to address different aspects of school leadership and management.
The workshop is structured to include interactive sessions, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, ensuring that participants not only gain theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. Expert facilitators and resource persons with extensive experience in educational leadership will conduct the sessions, providing participants with best practices and innovative strategies to implement in their respective schools.
