Kishtwar, May 27, 2024: Director School Education Jammu, Mr. Ashok Sharma, conducted a comprehensive visit of the District Kishtwar today, chairing a crucial meeting with Principals and Heads of Institutions (HOIs) to review the educational scenario and discuss key issues. The meeting aimed to identify gaps and formulate strategies for enhancing the educational infrastructure and quality in the district.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director School Education Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Mr. Dharinder Sharma, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Mr. R. K. Vesheshta, DIET Principal Kishtwar Mr. Prehlad Bhagat, Deputy CEO Mr. Masood Hussain Qazi, along with all the Principals, Zonal Education Officers, Heads of Clusters, and HOIs of High Schools of the district.
The session commenced with a warm welcome extended to the Director by CEO Kishtwar, Staff of CEO Office and the meeting members, followed by an introductory session.
Mr. Ashok Sharma reviewed a detailed presentation on the educational profile of the district, passing observations and directives for improvement through proactive measures.
Key points discussed in the meeting included bridging Educational Gaps. Emphasis was placed on mobilizing resources for the implementation of pre-primary classes in alignment with NEP-2020 guidelines, maintaining the student-teacher ratio, and strengthening “AGHAAZ Labs” in all clusters to spark students’ interest in science.
Mr. Ashok Sharma highlighted the need to intensify enrolment drives, involving teachers, parents, and School Management Committees to ensure that no student is left out of school, thus preventing dropouts. Strategies for the saturation of the Back to School initiative were also discussed.
Focusing on the Resource Rationalization, the Director emphasized a rational approach to utilizing available resources efficiently to achieve educational excellence on par with district standards.
Emphasising on the infrastructure development ,stress was laid on the timely completion of projects under SAMAGRA, UT, and District Capex. Collaborative efforts from district authorities, the School Education Department, and SMCs were urged to overcome hurdles in ongoing infrastructure projects.
The Director called for ensuring teachers/staff punctuality and the implementation of biometric attendance for real-time monitoring. He also recommended forming of Attendance Monitoring Committees in each cluster and taking stringent actions against derelict teachers.
Besides, the discussions included promoting CAL/ICT Centres, strengthening girls’ hostels for students from remote areas and ensuring the on time provisions of free textbooks and uniforms at the elementary level at the onset of current educational session . The need for e-Office implementation, remedial classes, capacity-building workshops for HOIs, DDOs, and teachers was also underscored during the meeting.
CEO Kishtwar was directed to ensure the timely disposal of regularization cases for ReTs and RRTs and one-time exemption cases. Mr. Sharma assured the attendees of his commitment to addressing grievances and implementing effective solutions promptly.
The meeting concluded with a focus on collaborative efforts to foster an efficient and effective education system, driven by the punctuality of teachers and proper monitoring by school heads.
Later, Director School Education Jammu also inspected the ongoing Construction work of Remodelling of GHSS Boys Kishtwar under UT Capex Budget and assessed the pace and progress of the work.He emphasised the concerned for time bound completion of works by mobilising the men and resources.
During his visit at DIET Kishtwar, he interacted with the staff and reviewed it’s functioning.
