Mahatma Gandhi showed the path of non-violence, co-existence, composite culture : Rector Bhaderwah Campus

Bhaderwah October 2 : On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti different programmes were organised at Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu to mark the birth anniversaries of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. Students of the Campus took out a rally and carries out a cleanliness drive in adjoining villages.

Bhadarwah campus in collaboration with Saryodya International Trust organised Gandhi Jyanti in the campus in which Students and faculty of the School of Education and Little Angles School and MBA participated.

To expand the reach of Prime Ministers “Swacchta Hi Sewa”  campaign infar off areas and to give it practical shape , Students and faculty of department of School of Education and other departments took and rally from Bhaderwah Campus which passed through different villages like Sungli , Sartangal and Puneja. The rally was flagged off by Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. GM Bhat.

Apart from sweeping of roads and footpaths, the students of the campus along with teaching and non teaching staff cleaned the drainage system
of these villages thoroughly. The students apprised the villagers about the importance of cleanliness.

After passing through different villages adjoining to the Bhaderwah Campus, , the rally culminated back at Bhaderwah Campus. The volunteers also took pledge to carry forward and spread the

‘Swachhta hi Sewa’ initiative and ensured their contribution towards the cleanliness of not only their surroundings but body and soul as well.

The students and the faculty took out a rally in the neighbouring villages around the campus and launched clean drive in the villages and the campus.  It was followed by seminar in the Lal Ded  auditorium in which students spoke on the life style and teachings of Gandhi ji and peleged to adopt the principles of Gandhi ji in their life.  Students and faculty paid paid tribute to Gandhi ji.

Prof. GM Bhat while paying rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, said his contribution to the freedom struggle against the British imperialism could not be forgotten.

He said the “Father of the Nation played a major role in making the country independent. “Mahatma Gandhi showed the path of non-violence,co-existence, composite culture and communal harmony. He preached unity in diversity along with oneness and strengthening of the religious bonds.

Rector Bhaderwah Campus emphasized the need of action oriented programs for cleanliness and hygienic status of the nation in general and areas of tourism potential like Bhadarwah in particular and to make them polythene free.

He urged upon the students to inculcate and spread the spirit of hygiene and cleanliness in the society and avert themselves from unhygienic conditions.

Welcome address was presented by Mrs Neetu Parihar Head School of Education while as vote of thanks was presented by Mrs Reenu Devi Lecturer School of Education.

Later in the day a cricket match was organised in the campus cricket ground between girl students of the campus.  This T 20 match was witness by large number of students and faculty members and the youth from the surrounf d villages. 

Through these day long activities, a meggaege of brotherhoon., peace and love was spread among the citizens of the Bhadarwah town.  

At this occasion, bajans were sung by the students and the faculty members of the campus.
