Toyota has launched the Yaris at prices starting from 8.75 lacs to 14.07 lacs in India. The mid size sedan would compete with Honda City , Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna in it’s segement.
Yaris has been introduced in 4 variants in Manual transmission and four in Auto transmission making 8 variants in all. There is no diesel option as of now.
Toyota seems to have overpriced it’s sedan in comparison to it’s competition making it the most expensive among the cars in it’s category.
The Honda City looks like a large car in front of the Yaris .some features it’s competition has are surprisingly missing in Yaris. Only thing worth in Yaris are the 7 airbags. Rear disc brakes, front parking sensor, and the rear ac blower fan.Toyota has a knack of pricing it products in india well above what the competition offers but this time they have gone overboard , the city and the Verna are better bet with fantastic pricing in the segement, compounding to that the Yaris doesn’t have the engine , Transmission , performance and space to match the city not to forget it doesn’t have a diesel either and Toyota has not done it’s homework around…
