RAJOURI, DECEMBER 03: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today interacted with the contesting Sarpanch and Panch candidates of Panchayat Elections at Kalakote.
Pertinently, the election in Block Kalakote and Moughla will be held during the 8th phase of the elections. In Block Kalakote there are 21 panchayat halqas and 155 panch constituencies while there are 11 panchayat halqas and 87 panch constituencies in Block Moughla.
During interaction with candidates, Deputy Commissioner advised them to ensure strict adherence to Model Code of Conduct for smooth conduct of polls.
The DC informed that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner. Besides, flying squads have been constituted to check any violation in this regard, he added.
The DDC stressed upon the contesting candidates to cooperate with the district administration and abide by election rules.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Yougal Manhas, SDM kalakote and other concerned officers.
