Srinagar, Oct 5 : An Over Ground Worker (OGW) of a militant outfit, who was arrested few days back by the security forces, escaped from a police station in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Friday.
Official sources said that an OGW, identified as Mehraj-Ud-Din Khan, was detained four days ago during a naka checking and lodged in Police Station Sopore of Baramulla.
”Khan on Friday managed to escape from the police custody,” they said.
Checkpoints have been established at various places, especially at the exit points of Sopore, and a search operation has been launched to nab the OGW, they added.
