RAMBAN, AUGUST 6: District Election Officer (DEO) Deputy Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today convened a meeting with representatives of political parties to discuss preparedness for special revision for Municipal Electoral Rolls-2018 with reference to 01-01-2018 as the qualifying date and outlined the strategy for greater public participation for 100% voter enrollment and error free rolls.
ADC, Gurvinder Jeet Singh and other officers also attended the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the draft electoral rolls for the Municipal Committees have been published on August 4, 2018.
The period for filing claims and objections is from August 4 to Aug 13, and a special camp will be held on August 12, disposal of claims and objections will be done on August 18, updation of rolls will be done on August 28 and final publication of electoral rolls will be done on September 4, 2018.
The claims and objections regarding addition, deletion, correction and transposition of entries can be made as per the schedule manually before the election officials as well as electronically by logging on the websitehttp://ceojk.nic.in/efiling.
The DEO urged the officers and representatives of political parties to facilitate wide publicity of the registration process so that no eligible voter is left out.
