UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER-08-: A National Lok Adalat, organized by District Legal Services Authority at District Court Complex under the patronage of Justice Gita Mittal Chief Justice J&K High Court, Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority.
Held under the guidance of Justice Rajesh Bindal , Executive Chairman J&K State Legal Services Authority and chairmanship of Sanjay Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur, the Lok Adalat took up and amicably settled several cases related to bank matters, recovery suits, traffic challans, Civil, MACT, Criminal compoundable and Matrimonial.
In the National Lok Adalat, a total of 5 benches were constituted in the district. The first bench was comprised of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Sanjay Parihar, C.L Bavouria, Additional Session Judge and Advocate B.B Sharma while the second bench included B.L Jaswal Sub Judge (CJM), Sandeep Kour, Sub Judge Secretary District Legal Service Authority and Advocate J.D Slathia.
Besides, the bench 3 was comprised of Archana Charak and Vikram Kumar Tehsildar Ramnagar, bench 4 was comprised of Ajay Kumar, District Mobile Magistrate Udhampur, Junaid Imtiaz Mir, Munsiff JMIC and Advocate Pankaj Mangotra while the bench 5 was comprised of Anjana Rajput, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate (in- charge Munsiff Majalta) and Advocate Mohan Lal Gupta.
A total of 599 cases of different nature were taken up, of which, 492 were settled on the spot. An amount of Rs 64,30,000 awarded as compensation in MACT cases while Rs19,99,000/ were realized in various bank cases. Besides, fine amounting Rs.60,2140/= was realized in respect of various criminal compoundable cases.
The national lok adalat was attended by litigants, Bar members, prosecution and staff of courts.
