KULGAM, AUGUST, 20: One day awareness programe under centrally sponsored Scheme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was held today at ICDS project Devsar, which was organized by CDPO Devsar.
Religious leaders, Anganwadi workers, helpers besides a large number of women participated in the day long awareness programme.
The function was held under the supervision of District Programme Officer Ghulam Hassan Shiekh.
On the occasion, the speakers highlighted the importance of girls in the society, emphasizing upon bringing awareness, imparting education to them besides upgrading their skills.
It was exhorted upon the participants to adopt humanistic approach towards Girl children in order to ensure gender equality and stabilizing sex ratio in the state.
