DIC Kathua organizes Mushaira, culture bonanza

KATHUA, DECEMBER 22: District Information Centre Kathua today organized a multilingual Mushaira and Cultural Bonanza here at Government Higher Secondary School, Chakra, Zone Hiranagar of Kathua district.

Principal of the school Charanjeet Singh was the chief guest while staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

The poets recited their creations in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi and Dogri languages on various social evils like drug addiction, female foeticide, gender disparity, illiteracy and dowry system.

Prominent among the poets who recited their writings were Vijay Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Narinder Khajuria, Pratima Khajuria and others.

A cultural programme on patriotic theme besides Dogri, Punjabi and Hindi folk songs presented by Joginder Kumar, Bunty Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Rakesh Kumar and Raghbir Chand, was applauded and enjoyed by the audience. The staff and students also presented patriotic solo performances.

Speaking on the occasion, Charanjeet Singh welcomed and thanked the Information Department for organizing such type of programmes. He appealed for organizing more such programmes on regular basis.

He also expressed gratitude to the poets, writers and singers for their presentations.
