Ramban: DDC reviews Darbar move arrangements

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 23- District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today reviewed the darbar move arrangements being put in place from Banihal to Nashri here at a meeting of civil and police officers.

The meeting was attended by the SP Traffic, NH44, PD Sharma, CPO Uttam Singh, CMO, Dr. Safu-din-Khan, ARTO, Mohammad Saleem and representatives of construction companies and other officers of civil departments.

The DDC asked the construction agencies for reducing traffic pressure on National Highway and ensuring better road condition for smooth plying of traffic during move days. He directed the construction companies to station adequate man and machineries at vulnerable locations from Banihal to Nashri for speedy restoration of highway in case of any eventuality and land sliding.

The DDC directed the Army, BEACON, NHAI, Police and civil departments to establish a round the clock joint control room to monitor clearance of road. He directed the traffic police to regulate traffic efficiently for easy passing of vehicles at construction sites.

He further informed that three medical teams alongwith ambulances will bed deputed at different locations including Jawahar tunnel to Ramsoo, Ramsoo to Ramban and Ramban to Nashri under the supervision of Dr. Sameer, (Mobile No. 9419910903,) Dr. Zameer, (Mobile No. 9596414695) and Dr. Ankush Bhagat, (Mobile No. 9682502177).

Meanwhile, the DDC directed the health department authorities to be ready along with staff and ambulances to meet any emergency, while SRTC was directed to reserve adequate buses at Banihal for commuters coming by train from Srinagar and to tackle any urgency in case of halt of vehicles due to technical problems.
