Chandigarh, Dec 27 – Haryana Police have arrested a drug peddler after it recovered 1.5 kg opium from his possession from Bus stand, Hisar.
While stating here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested accused had been identified as Inder Dev, a resident of village Chalia, district Chatra in Jharkhand.
He said that a team of Crime Investigation Agency, Hisar had received a tip off about smuggling of opium at bus stand. Acting swiftly, CIA team laid a trap and arrested the accused alongwith opium from bus stand.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that he had to supply opium to an unknown person at Hisar bus stand and had to receive Rs 5000 in lieu of delivery besides the bus fare. A case under NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation was on.
It may be mentioned here that Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu had already directed to all district Superintendents of Police to completely crush the menace of drug peddling and its distribution network in their respective areas.
