RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 28- District development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting to review the implementation of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” flagship programme in the district
Stressing on involving all stakeholders in the programme for effective implementation, the DDC called for organizing educative sessions and programmes at village level and exhorted for synchronization among various departments to achieve the desired result.
DDC stressed for massive awareness programmes should be organized throughout the length and breadth of the district so as to have maximum impact. He asked the concerned for ensuring wide publicity to the flagship scheme through brochures, handouts, posters, symposium at village level, paintings on the walls of schools and Panchayat Ghars besides hoardings on Rajouri Poonch Highway related to BBBP Scheme. He informed that meritorious girl children from different walks of life shall be identified and felicitated to encourage them.
DDC directed CMO Rajouri to ask ASHA workers to encourage women folks for institutional deliveries and avail benefits of various schemes.
It was decided in the meeting that DYSSO will organize special sports/ athletic meet for girls at district and block level besides holding special coaching camps for girls in different games.
DSWO Rajouri was directed to install ‘GuddaGuddi Board’ displaying gender birth ratio month wise at CHC and district hospital while it was also directed to take initiatives like displaying the name of the outstanding Girl child in every school on the notice board as ‘Girl of the Month’ to encourage the female child.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Rajouri Yoginder Katoch, Principal PG Degree college Rajouri, Chief Medical officer Rajouri Dr.Suresh Gupta ,DSWO Rajouri, Mohammad Naseeb, Dysp Govind Rattan, Assistant Director Planning, Bilal Mir, officers of the Education Department, Chairman Child Welfare Committee Rajouri, Legal officer ICPS and Administrator One stop centre for women.
