DDC Shopian interacts with Civil Society, Traders Federation,Bar Association

SHOPIAN, MARCH 01:  District Development Commissioner Shopian,Dr Owais Ahmed today interacted with the members of Civil Society and Traders Union members of District Shopian  and took first hand appraisal of public grievances.

The Civil Society and Traders Union projected people’s demands, various developmental issues and redressal of public grievances.

A detailed charter of demands was presented to the DDC  highlighting developmental demands and issues confronting locals in main town and other parts of the district.

The DDC said that the aim of holding the interaction is to reach out to the people and establish an effective and responsive administration in the district. “Once the people come to us and make us aware about the problems which are not in our notice; it takes us less time to address it and at the same time the interactions with public makes us reach the root cause of problems,” he said adding that his office is open for 24/7 for anyone without any discrimination.

Bar Association Shopian, President Traders Federation Shopian, Fruit Growers Association, President Sumo Stands Shopian, President Biatul-maal Shopian and other senior citizens of the district were present in the meeting.

Later the members of bar association and traders federation appauled the district adminstration particularly Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmed who put all the services in the public disposal despite heavy snowfall which led to the closure of roads and electricity supplies in the district. They also said that the above services were restored in shortest time ever.

Meanwhile the delegations put forth many demands before the authorities on which DDC told that would be addressed with the coming time one by one. Deputy commissioner on the occasion also said that the district adminstration has made adequate arrangements of petrol, diesel and LPG in the district and advised public not to pay heeds to the rumours which are being spread by some miscreants on social media.
