Budgam to cover 106268 children under IDCF programme
ADC Budgam stresses on sanitation, ODF, drinking water testing to control diarrhoea
BUDGAM, MAY 28: Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani today inaugurated Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight (IDCF) programme at DC Office Budgam.
Earlier, ADC also chaired a meeting of officers to take stock of the readiness and preparedness for the IDCF at his office chamber. Among others, the meeting was attended by ACR Budgam, CMO Budgam, CEO Budgam, DSWO, EO Municipal Committee Budgam, officials from PHE Division Budgam, Chadoora, Education, Hydraulic Circle Budgam, Panchayat, and Municipal Committees.
On the occasion, ADC said that during the 15 days programme commencing from May -28 to June- 8, around 106268 children between the age group of 0-5 years of age shall be covered under the IDCF across the district Budgam.
While briefing about the IDCF, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) informed that total 216 ORS and Zinc distribution corners were established at hospitals and PHCs for diarrhoea control awareness across the district.
The ADC stressed on the concerned to ensure full target is achieved and no child is left out and all are administered the ORS/Zinc to keep a check on the spread of diarrhoea. He said, health officers will ensure the distribution of free ORS packets to the parents and guide them on its usage.
He said that the health department would conduct the door to door survey through Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and FMPHWs to control diarrhoea and would reach out to the patients at their doorsteps. Emphasizing on maintaining proper sanitation and ODF, the ADC directed PHE department to conduct regular drinking water tests, to ensure consumption of safe water to avoid the spread of disease.
