Doda, June 10– An impactful Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on Drug Abuse Awareness was successfully conducted today at Govt. Middle School Linga Dandi, falling under Dandi Panchayat, Bhaderwah. The initiative aimed to sensitize students, faculty, and the broader community about the severe consequences of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
The program commenced with a thought-provoking address by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Koul, Associate NCC Officer and Counseling & Cultural Incharge, Zone Bhaderwah. Dr. Koul passionately highlighted the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society, urging the community to take proactive steps in prevention and rehabilitation.
The session was further enriched by valuable insights from representatives of various departments. Inspector Tariq Hussain (Excise & Taxation Department), Dr. Sandeep Sharma (Health Department), PSI Shiv Dutt (J&K Police Department), Kamal Kishore (RDD/SHG Department), and Renu Bala (Youth Services & Sports) each sensitized the attendees about the physiological, psychological, and social consequences of drug addiction. They stressed the critical need for awareness, early intervention, and a united stand against this growing menace.
The campaign was organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Koul, with the guidance of Mr. Daya Krishan (Head of the Institution) and under the overall supervision of Mr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Zonal Education Officer, Bhaderwah.
The event concluded on a powerful and emotional note as Dr. Koul administered a solemn pledge against drug abuse. Students, staff members, and parents collectively vowed to abstain from drugs and commit to promoting a healthy, meaningful life.
