Doda, May 19– An impactful Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign focused on drug abuse awareness was successfully conducted today at PMShri Government Higher Secondary School Bhalra, under Misrata Panchayat in Bhaderwah.
The program commenced with a compelling address by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Koul, Associate NCC Officer and Counseling & Cultural Incharge, Zone Bhaderwah, who underscored the far-reaching detrimental effects of drug abuse.
Further insights into the physiological and social ramifications of drug addiction were provided by Meena Kumar, Community Health Officer from the Health Department Bhalra, Sub Inspector Sh. Gourav Sumbaria of the J&K Police Department, and Inspector Tariq Hussain from the Excise Department. They stressed the significance of awareness, timely intervention, and a united effort to remain drug-free.
Adding a student perspective, Class 11 students Suhani and Kashish delivered passionate speeches highlighting the perils of drug use, which were well-received by the attendees.
The campaign was organized under the leadership of Dr. Koul, with guidance from Irshad Ahmed, In-charge Principal, and the overall supervision of Sh. Rajinder Singh Bhall, Principal of the institution.
The event culminated with a powerful anti-drug abuse pledge, administered by Dr. Koul, where students and NCC cadets committed to staying away from drugs and leading healthy lives.
