Jammu, 30 November 2025: In the quiet ledger of time, where years gather like patient pages, a distinguished chapter gently closes today. Shri Javed Iqbal Sheikh, a name etched across classrooms, corridors, and countless young minds, lays down the mantle of service after 38 years and 8 months of steadfast devotion to the Education Department.
Commencing his journey on 31 March 1987 at HSS Dachhan, Shri Sheikh walked through the noble hierarchy of roles—Laboratory Assistant, Teacher, Master, and finally Headmaster—each step marked by dignity, discipline, and an unwavering fidelity to the cause of learning. He renders his final salute to the profession as the Headmaster, Government High School Gahan, where his tenure concludes but his influence does not.
Colleagues recall his punctuality like a sunrise, his guidance like a steady lamp in a long corridor, and his ability to touch the young mind with the soft authority of experience. Generations of students, now scattered across varied walks of life, remain living footnotes to his commitment.
To honour this graceful transition, Shri Sheikh hosted a retirement lunch at his residence—House No. 249, Ward No. 04, Link Road—where friends, colleagues, and well-wishers gathered not merely to mark a date, but to acknowledge a lifetime of purposeful work.
As he steps into the uncharted yet welcoming realm of retired life, the Education Department offers its profound gratitude and prays for his days ahead to be filled with health, contentment, and the quiet joy that only a well-lived journey can bestow.
