Kargil: Mission Jammu and Ladakh of Bharatiya Janta Party suffered a major body blow in the Kargil district on Saturday as 25 of its members resigned from the party.
The BJP members and activists submitted their resignation to state general secretary of the party, Ashok Kaul. Those who resigned included party’s vice president, spokesperson and general secretary for the Kargil.
The enmasse resignation of the 25 members of BJP was submitted to Kaul by a delegation which was led by Kargil spokesperson Subhan Jaffery.
“Three months ago, we informed the party leadership in Kargil and the members of the state BJP about our resentment with some serious issues in the party,” resignation letter reads. “But the party has totally ignored us and we have been compelled to take collective decision of resignation from the different positions and the basic membership of the party.”
BJP general secretary Ashok Kaul while confirming the resignations clarified that these members were not some tall leaders of the party from the area and only two out these 25 members were important.
