TJAC (Teachers’ Joint Action Committee) Holds Protest March towards Governor House for 7th Pay Commission and Delinking of SSA Salary, reach indira chowk,Police Foils the March , Many received minor injuries in scuffle with Police
Today on 16th of September 2018 , thousands of teachers from all the ten districts of Jammu province held a strong protest demonstration at Press Club Jammu under the banner of Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (TJAC) , which is an amalgam of J&K ReT Teachers Forum , J&K Teachers Forum, J&K SSA Teachers Forum, Tehreek-e Rehbar-e Taleem Association etc . The protest was organized under the leadership of State President JKRTTF Vinod Sharma, State Sr Vice Chairman Najam Jafri,State Vice President JKRTTF Gulzabir Daing, State Chief Coordinator JKRTTF Sukhdev Singh Sumbria and Provincial President Jammu Rajesh Singh Jamwal.
Holding placards in their hands and shouting slogans in favour of their grievances thousands of ReTs gathered at Press Club Jammu where indefinite chain hunger strike entered 17th consecutive day.
Addressing the gathering Mr Vinod Sharma lamented the government for its dilly delaying tactics to resolve the issues of SSA Teachers and masters including immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission and delinking of SSA Salary from MHRD to State Budget due to which families of thousands of these teachers are suffering badly as they are living miserable lives as they are unable to provide proper food and clothing to their children and required medicines to their old and ailing parents.
He said , “We have projected these issues from bottom to top and even many peaceful protests have been held in Jammu as well as Kashmir province and we have been on chain hunger strike for last 18 days but still these issues are unresolved, thereby forcing us to come on roads and choosing extreme step of continuing indefinite Chain hunger strike ”
While speaking Najam Jafri said that they have no such attention to leave their schools and come on roads but callous approach of the government is forcing them for such steps.
While addressing , Gulzabir Daing regretted for the loss of studies of the students for which the government is personally responsible as it has failed to resolve these issues of SSA Teachers and masters.
” How can nation builders give their best when they are living in mental trauma as their salaries are pending, 7th Pay Commission has not been implemented and salary has not been delinked even though more than 60% of schools are dependent on SSA teachers”, Rajesh Jamwal said.
Later the teachers in the Form of Protest Rally Marched towards Governor House but a large number of police personnel already deployed out side the Press Club tried to stop them but the teachers managed to reach Indira chowk and jammed the traffic for one hour and in the process many teachers received minor injuries and many teachers including females were detained and lodged in District Police line Gandhi Nagar Jammu and even some felt unconscious .

Manzoor khan, Subash Chander, , Hari Lal Nag,Tahir Masood, Rakesh Singh,
Dinesh Singh,Balwan Singh , Surjit Singh, Ravinder Chib , Ravinder Singh , Jamat Ali Agha,Pankaj Verma, Rajeet Singh , Kuldip Bandaral, Darshan Sharma, Yog Raj Singh, Rajinder Gupta and Ashok Seth, Neha Sharma, Shamim and others.
Meanwhile Indefinite Chain Hunger Strike Of TJAC at Press Club Jammu entered 18th consecutive day and at Srinagar it entered 14th consecutive day under the dynamic leadership of chairman TJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani .
Later TJAC (Teachers’ Joint Action Committee) leadership held a an emergency meeting and appealed the governor and the advisors to resolve these issues by immediate implementing 7th pay commission at once to avoid any more confrontation, otherwise they will be forced to intensify their stir and for any loss of studies of the students the government would be personally responsible.
