SHOPIAN SEPTEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Owais Ahmed, today met Numbardars and Chowkidars from all blocks of the district and sought their feedback on the pace of various ongoing developmental activities in their respective areas.
Issues like scarcity of drinking water, and essential commodities besides irregular power supply were raised on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration is mulling ways and means to empower the institutions of Panchayat Raj which is functions at the grass-root levels.
Impressing upon the functionaries of every department to involve the local representatives in decision making, the Deputy Commissioner said that their involvement would go a long way in effective public deliverance and proper utilization of funds.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate Zainapora, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, and all Tehsildars.
