J&K officer facing sexual harassment charges, suspended

Jammu, Sep 28: A senior officer from Jammu and Kashmir Animal Husbandry Department has been suspended after he was arrested in Rajouri district on the charges of sexual harrassment.

“Accused of sexual harassment, Dr D B Singh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Rajouri, has been placed under suspension on Friday,” official sources here said.

An inquiry is pending against the officer who worked with the department of Directorate of Animal Husbandry.

Supported by her colleagues, the victim approached SSP Rajouri and filed a written complaint mentioning about the threats given by Dr D B Singh in order to withdraw sexual harassment charges framed by her.

After receiving the complaint, the Rajouri police station came into action and arrested the officer on September 17. The accused was trying to abscond from the district.
