Jammu, Oct 2: Ramban District Development Commissioner Showkat Aijaz Bhat ordered the suspension of two junior engineers, posted with Pradhan mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) department over the usage of sub-standard material.
As per the district administration, action against the junior engineers was taken on a public complaint for the macadamisation of Karol-Kumet road.
The erring officials have been attached to the office of Xen-PMGSY, till a report containing the detailed inquiry by the Additional Deputy Commisioner, as ordered by the DDC, is received.
Earlier, the ADC, Dr Basharat Hussain had inspected the site, as directed by the DDC and submitted a videographic/ photographic evidences of the work done by the department, on kilometre number 10 (RD-500 to 1000) and (9500 to 10000).
The ADC has additionally been directed to conduct a detailed enquiry into the matter and submit the report within 15 days for further action against the defaulters.
The DDC also sought explanation from the AEE of PMGSY in this regard.
