KATHUA: Councillor from Ward no 9 of Kathua Municipal Council, Naresh Sharma, was today elected as President while Councillor of Ward no 4, Rekha Kumari was elected ad Vice President of Kathua Municipal Council (KMC).
In the election for President that was held at MC office in Kathua, 15 votes out of 21 were polled in favour of Naresh Sharma while Vice Presidential candidate, Rekha Kumari got 13 votes,District Election Officer, Rohit Khajuria declared.
ADC Kathua, Ghanshyam Singh, SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil, ACR, Jatinder Mishra, CEO MC Kathua, Sanjeev Gandotra and Tehsildar Kathua were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, In Municipal Committee Lakhanpur Councillor Surmu Din was elected as Chairman while Councillor Rakesh Sharma was elected as Vice Chairman.
In Basohli Municipal Committee, Councillor Sumesh Sapolia of ward no 6 was elected as Chairman whereas Councillor Abhinav Razdan of ward no 9 was declared as Vice Chairman.
For Billawar Municipal Committee, Uma Kant Basotra, Councillor of ward no 9 was elected as Chairman while Councillor Mohinder Kumar was elected as Vice Chairman.
Whereas, Hiranagar Municipal Committee, Vijay Kumar elected as the Chairman of Hiranagar MC while Councillor, Rajinder Singh was elected as Vice-Chairman.
In Nagri- Parole Municipal Committee, Councillor Shashi Kanta elected as the Chairman while Councillor Tarsem Paul was elected as Vice-Chairman in the MC.
