Doda farmers visit Krishi Bhawan for practical training, exposure

JAMMU, DECEMBER 21: A group of farmers from Doda district today visited Krishi Bhawan Jammu as a part of practical training and demonstration on latest scientific interventions in the field of Agriculture.

The visit was organized by the Department of Agriculture, Doda for awareness and practical guidance from the experts on different aspects of farming.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture H. K. Razdan, advised the farmers to share the knowledge regarding diversified farming for better income, Protected Cultivation of Vegetables, Mushroom Cultivation, use of Latest Agriculture Machinery to save time and labour gained during the visit with the fellow farmers in their respective areas. He called on farmers to organize themselves in Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) for better marketing of their produce.

Later, the farmers visited Mushroom Demonstration and Training Centre Protected Vegetable Cultivation Unit, Apiculture Unit, Vermicompost unit, Advanced Pasteurized Mushroom compost making plant at Krishi Bhawan Jammu for practical demonstration and interacted with the experts.

Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Pranoo, Sushil Rattan, SMS (SDL), Vikas Koushal, Agriculture Extension Officer, Tajinder Sharma accompanied the farmers during their visit.

Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Bulesh Zutshi, Deputy Director (Central), Jagmohan Bhat and Subject Matter Speclist (RL), Vinod Raina were also present on the occasion.
