KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 31: Composite Regional Centre Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Bemina, Srinagar in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare Kishtwar& Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kishtwar organized an Awareness camp/orientation programme cum Rehabilitation camp /distribution camp at New DC Office Complex Kishtwar here today.
Dr. Shamim, Rehabilitation Officer gave a detailed lecture on the working of CRC Srinagar and all the participants were made aware about the preventive aspects associated with the cause of disability right from pregnancy, Postnatal care, Importance of balanced diet for Mother and Child, Early detection of disability symptoms and prompt cons- ultation and remedial measures.
“Early detection and intervention can minimize the disability to a greater extent” was the slogan of the programme.
Later, beneficiaries were registered for providing them with prosthetic aids.
The beneficiaries were requested to bring two copies of photographs, copy of Aadhar, copy of disability certificate and copy of BPL ration card/ income certificate.
Many of frontline workers of Health including ASHA workers were also sensitized about various aspects associated with the differently abled persons and they are working at grassroot level and can bring changes in society.
Later, Hearing aids, Auxiliary crutches, walking sticks and LS belts were distributed among 23 differently abled persons by the CRC team in presence of DSWO Kishtwar and CMO Kishtwar.
Among others present during the occasion were CMO Kishtwar Dr. Abdul Majid, DSWO Kishtwar, Dr. Mohsin Raza, TSWO, Rajesh Sharma,TSWO
Dewan Chand,TSWO Chetna Sharma, Orthopedics and Audiologist of CRC, Bemina Srinagar besides ASHA workers and scores of beneficiaries of district Kishtwar.
