Jammu, January 3: A soldier was killed and another critically injured in an avalanche in Saujiyan sector of Poonch near the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.
This is the first death of a soldier this year. He has been identified as Lance Naik Sapan Mehra of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh.
The injured soldier has been identified as Sepoy Harpreet Singh.
The avalanche hit a forward post of 40 RR at KK Galki area in Saujiyan sector.
