DDC Shopian, Dr. Owais reviews winter preparedness .
Shopian 3 January 2019: District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed today convened a meeting of officers and engineers to review the action plan regarding snow clearance and stock and supply position of food grains in the district
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, Mechanical Engineering, AEE R&B, and Executive Officer Municipal Committee, officials of FCS&CA, and other concerned officers and officials.
The meeting was informed that men and machinery have been kept ready to meet any eventuality. It was given out that a control room has been established and snow-clearance machinery has been kept in a position of readiness. It was revealed that 1345 quintals of sugar and 33400 quintals of rice have been dumped in advance for 3 months at 111 Sale centres in the district which remain inaccessible during heavy snowfall.
