POONCH, JANUARY 03: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, today reviewed the achievements under the flagship women empowerment scheme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in the district.
The DDC ordered constitution of district level and block level task force for effective implementation of the scheme.
He had detailed discussion on BBBP district action plan and asked the concerned officers to work in a coordinated manner to achieve the set goals. He also emphasized on carrying out activities as per approved action plan which envisages to sensitise the people about the importance of protection, good education and good health of girl child. He directed CMO and PO ICDS to activate front line functionaries (AWWs ASHA workers) to make people aware about the importance of girl child by bringing an attitudinal change among the people in this regard.
While urging the departments to spread maximum awareness about the scheme through different modes, DDC asked the chief education officer to organise debates and symposiums in all educational institutions regarding the importance of protecting and educating the girl child.
