KISHTWAR, JANUARY 03: The district Police organized a district level debate contest on the topic “Life with Drugs or Liveable life” here today to create awareness among the youth about hazards of drug addiction.
The event was attended by the students, local youth, senior citizens, police, security and civil administration officers.
On the instructions of DGP J&K, the district police have adopted a two-pronged strategy for eradication of drugs menace from the district.
As many as, 16 participants from different educational institutions of the district took part in the contest and expressed their views on the topic.
Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana- the chief guest, advised the parents and teachers to work collectively towards saving the youth from the evil of drugs and maintain a strict vigil on their wards. He appreciated the enthusiasm of the students towards eradicating this social evil from the district.
The Jury for the debate contest comprised Faisal Mushtaq Kichloo, Dr. Sajid I/C Principal DIET Kishtwar and Rajinder Singh Assistant Commandant CRPF 52 Bn. Kishtwar.
The first, second and third positions went to Renum Fatima student of 10th class SDM Public Higher Secondary School, Annika Thakur student of 10th class SDM Public Higher Secondary School and Suhani Aryan student of 12th class Girl Higher Secondary School Kishtwar, respectively.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Rajinder Kumar Gupta thanked the public and participants and all coordinating agencies for their co-operation and participation.
