Chandigarh, May 27: A local court has ordered the attachment of the official car of the Director-General of the Haryana Roadways to realise service benefits awarded to an electrician.
The court also ordered to auction the vehicle if the department fails to pay the pending amount of Rs 3 lakh by August 20. The order came on an execution petition filed by Durga Dutt, a former electrician of the Haryana Roadways.
In the petition, Dutt submitted that he joined the Haryana Roadways on the post of electrician (helper) on May 28, 1986. He was promoted as assistant electrician on October 4, 1995, but his pay scale was not revised.
On June 17, 2015, he was promoted as electrician and this time, his pay scale was revised to Rs 1,200-2,040 grade.Counsel for the petitioner stated that Dutt had worked on the technical post for several years, but his pay scale was not revised.
The state government revised the pay scale to Rs 4,000-6,000, but he was again denied the benefit of the revised pay scale. Thus a petition was filed for seeking benefits of the revised pay scale, stated the counsel.
On his petition, the court directed the Haryana Roadways to give all service benefits to Dutt on September 5, 2017. The court also ordered to give Rs 4,000 pay grade to Dutt from November 1, 2016. When the department failed to implement the order, Dutt filed an execution petition in the court on March 8, 2018.
After more than a year, the court ordered to sell the DG’s car in order to pay service benefits to Dutt.
