Srinagar, June 24: Two militants havd been killed so far in the ongoing encounter which broke our earlier between goverment forces and militants Cheedar area of tehsil Qaimoh of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A senior Police official told media that, “two militants have been killed and there is a possibility of third militant hiding in the house and the operation is on”.
Reports said that army, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched a search operation in the area following “specific’ inputs about the presence of militants.
Massive clashes broke out between the government forces and protesters near the site of the gunfight.
Reports said that youth took to streets and clashed with the forces deployed in the area to disrupt the anti-militant operation.
The forces responded by firing tear gas, triggering further clashes.
Meanwhile identification of militants is yet to be ascertained.
