Nagseni:The Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan’s IEC (Information, Education & Communication) activities were conducted today at Govt. High School, Kuchalna, in the Dool Zone, Nagseni, under the aegis of Panchayat Dool A. In a collaborative effort, field functionaries from the Social Welfare, Rural Development, Health, and Education Departments joined hands to raise awareness on the menace of drug abuse.
The purpose of the programme was to sensitize students, faculty, and the community at large about the social, moral, and financial consequences of drug abuse, and to mobilize support for a drug-free society.
On the occasion, Shri Sameer Sharma, Village Level Worker (VLW), addressed the gathering. He detailed the growing threat of substance abuse in society, underscoring its detrimental social, moral, and economic effects.
Also speaking was Mr. Ashu Kumar, Head of Institution (HOI) of the school, who emphasized the pivotal role that the student community can play in combating this menace. He encouraged students to act as ambassadors of awareness in their homes and neighborhoods.
Other dignitaries present included Ajay Wazir (PET), Mohammed Younis representing the Social Welfare Department, and additional officials from related departments.
Several students—Nilofer, Numan, Owais, and Ifra from classes 9 and 10—shared their thoughts on drug abuse and its impact. In recognition of their participation and contribution to spreading awareness, the organizers felicitated them with notebooks.
