Doda, December 23-In a noteworthy initiative aimed at improving public infrastructure and supporting the education sector, 10 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) distributed electric poles to the School Education Department, Doda, under the Indian Army’s civic action programme, Operation Sadbhavana. The initiative underscores the Army’s sustained efforts towards community welfare and development in far-flung and challenging regions of the district.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh, IAS,Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Sh.Sandeep Mehta, JKPS,Commanding Officer 10 RR, Colonel Rahul Katiyar,Chief Education Officer Doda, Sh.Iqbal Hussain and Executive Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD), Sh.Rouf Butt. Several other senior officers from the Army and civil administration were also present.
The electric poles provided through this initiative are expected to strengthen power infrastructure in government educational institutions, facilitating improved lighting, enhanced safety, and a more supportive learning environment for students. Officials from the Power Development Department assured that close coordination with the district administration and the Army would ensure prompt installation and optimal use of the infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, senior officers highlighted that Operation Sadbhavana is designed to address developmental shortcomings and improve the quality of life of local communities through focused civic action projects. The district administration lauded the efforts of 10 RR, observing that such collaborative initiatives significantly contribute to reinforcing civil–military relations and speeding up grassroots-level development.
The programme concluded on a positive note, with all stakeholders reiterating their commitment to sustained cooperation for the holistic development and welfare of the people of Doda district.
