Jammu, December 27-A two-day Capacity Building/Training Programme for Master Trainers under the School Health and Wellness Programme concluded successfully on December 27, 2025, after being held on December 26–27 at the Conference Hall, Jawaharlal Nehru Udyog Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu.
The programme was organised by National Health Mission UT of J&K to strengthen the capacities of Master Trainers designated as School Health and Wellness Ambassadors, who play a crucial role in implementing the initiative across schools in the Jammu Division. The training aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge, pedagogical competencies, and practical strategies to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of students.
Nominated Master Trainers from 10 districts of the Jammu Division participated actively in the workshop. The programme also saw the participation of Doctors from ten districts, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach and enhancing coordination between the Education and Health Departments for effective implementation of the programme.
Resource persons and subject experts conducted detailed sessions on key components of the School Health and Wellness Programme, including adolescent health, nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, life skills education, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Interactive discussions, presentations, and experience-sharing sessions enriched the learning process.
The organisers highlighted that the training would help develop a strong pool of Master Trainers who will further train teachers and School Health and Wellness Ambassadors at the grassroots level. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance awareness and ensure holistic development of students through structured and sustained health and wellness interventions in schools.
The programme concluded with a collective resolve by all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the effective implementation of the School Health and Wellness Programme across the Jammu Division.
