State Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress, Shri Ankur Dogra, has expressed serious concern over the acute shortage of doctors in Ramban District Hospital. Ramban is an accident-prone area where road accidents occur frequently on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, but the lack of adequate medical facilities is putting people’s lives at serious risk.

Shri Dogra stated that not even a single physician is available in the hospital, due to which patients are being deprived of even basic treatment. Along with the shortage of specialist doctors, there is also a severe deficiency of paramedical staff, which has completely disrupted the functioning of the hospital. This situation is the result of the gross negligence of the NC Government, which has utterly failed to strengthen health services. He also demanded air 24*7 ambulance services at Ramban.

Dogra has warned that if concrete steps are not taken within one week to address the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in Ramban District Hospital, JKPYC will be compelled to sit on an indefinite hunger strike. We demand that the vacant posts be filled with immediate effect and priority be given to health services in this accident-prone area.

The people of Jammu & Kashmir cannot be deprived of their right to healthcare. The NC Government must understand its responsibility; otherwise, the Youth Congress will take to the streets and stand firmly with the public.
