SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01: The Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj today organised a 2-day Capacity Building Programme for field functionaries of MGNREGA at Regional Extension Training Centre (RETC) Budgam.
The training programme was attended by various field functionaries viz. Programme Officers, Technical Assistants (TA), Village Level Workers (VLWs) and GRS.
Additional Secretary RD&PR Rakesh Badyal, who was the chief guest on the occasion said that such training programmes would go a long way in training the trainers so that a positive impact is visible on ground. He said that department of RD&PR has focused on capacity building of field functionaries towards upgradation of their skills for improved quality of implementation of the programme.
He instructed all the field functionaries to strictly follow the guidelines of MGNREGA so that everybody is well-versed with the right-based provisions of the scheme.
Importantly, the department also organised a Pre-Training test and a Post-Training test for all the field functionaries to access their know-how about MGNREGA.
The aim of the capacity-building programme is to acquaint the officers/officials with the guidelines viz. the entitlement of workers, involvement of other line-departments for convergence with MGNREGA, for its proper implementation so that the stakeholders draw the maximum benefit of the scheme.
MGNREGA aims to provide mandated 100 days of wage employment to strengthen livelihood to the rural masses and creation of durable assets.
