SAMBA, DECEMBER 01: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, an impressive function was held at Emergency Hospital Vijaypur to spread awareness about the deadly disease.
The programme was held under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Samba Dr Rajinder Samyal , Block Medical Officer, Dr Lakhwinder Singh. The event was celebrated under the theme ‘Know your status’.
A large number of people including hospital staff and some prominent citizen of the area were present at the function. On the occasion, general awareness regarding the signs, symptoms and treatment about AIDS was raised.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Samba, emphasized the need for more involvement of youth especially women, students and village level workers in combating the disease
BMO Ramgarh said, “HIV /AIDS affected must visit nearest health centre so that they should be diagnosed early and put on proper treatment as Government is providing Free ART Medicines at ART centres.”
Other speakers highlighted the need to remove the social stigma about AIDS disease among people in today’s world.
Besides this, World AIDS was also observed in various health institutions of District Samba under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, Samba.
